Anti-Spyware is software that protects your computer from Malware, Spyware, Keyloggers and Intruders/Hackers and more.

Anti-Spyware programs search your computers Hard drive and Memory (RAM) looking through the registry, processes, registry and cookies. This scans all files or just certain areas, some programs allow you to select sections you want to scan. These programs search files for specific strands of codes and extensions. As many new threats are created daily Anti-Spyware programs need to be updated almost daily, most programs allow you to set a schedule for updating and even scanning this saves the user time but if you forget a scan is starting you can soon find your computer slowed down as these programs use lots of memory and CPU processes.

Anti-Spyware has become so advanced that people can find many ways into computers they can leave behind files that can obtain your information and upload it to a web sever where the attacker can gain your data. They can follow your key strokes and mouse clicks to know what file you are in, what webpage you are on and then all your personal information you type in.

Some software, usually viruses, can effect you protection programs, this means your Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Firewall.

If you do not have any Spyware protection it is something you should seriously invest in and as soon as you scan you can be amazed at the amount of Spyware on your computer.
