Cases

The case is like your computers home. This is where thousands of dollars worth of high tech equipment will sit for many years. So naturally you should try to pick out something that you will like sitting in your room. Now, this is a modding site, and that means that we don't like things plain...or premodded. But in todays markets sometimes you have to go with a plain case or a pre-mod. The fact is many of these cases offer very nice features that you should take into account when purchasing your case.
The first thing to consider is size. This not only affects how the computer will look in your room, but also the amount of room for components and future expansion. Also, this is the time to make sure that you motherboard will fit in the case. Most motherboards will fit in almost any case, but some require a larger "full size" ATX case. These are often used as server cases. This allows room for multiple hard drives while still allowing for plenty of airflow, keeping clutter to a minimum.
On the other side of the spectrum we have the mini and micro atx sized cases. These are used primarily for HTPC and Lanbox systems. They have a small footprint, and due to being a Small Form Factor (SFF), they tend to be much lighter than their full sized brethren.
