A Drill Press is a very handy tool. It is basically a table top drill. The advantage to a drill press is that it can allow you to make many holes, much more precisely, because you don't have to worry about the drill slipping, and much faster than a regular drill.
Drill presses are often rated by size. However it must be noted that a 10" drill press will not necessarily drill 10" holes. An average drill press has a stroke of 2-3 inches. However a larger stroke is not uncommon for larger drill presses.
