Installing Motherboards
Installing Motherboards

1) First make sure that you computer is completely unplugged (all devices and especially the mains connection). Also wear an anti-static wristband and connect it to a metal object to ground yourself.

2) Inspect your case and make sure that the motherboard will fit within. Now make sure that the motherboard raisers are in the correct positions for the motherboard to be screwed to the case.

3) Locate the I/O plate that should come within the box of your motherboard. The I/O plate that this tutorial shows is below but remember they can differ as there are different ports on different motherboards.

4) Insert the I/O plate into the space provided at the back of the case. This can be difficult, if so use quite some pressure on the I/O plate to pop it into place as shown below.

6) Next place your motherboard onto the risers, in the right position so the ports on the motherboard are sticking slightly out of the I/O plate and so the holes for the screws are lined up correctly with the risers. Next screw you motherboard down to the case. If any of the screws resist going into the riser check that 1)You are using the right screws 2)That the motherboard is inline properly.

Now your motherboard install should be complete!
