Installing RAM

1) First make sure that you computer is completely unplugged (all devices and especially the mains connection). Next turn the switch on your power supply to the "off" position, or the circle. Then with your PSU off and unplugged press the main power button on your computer once. This will discharge all the left over power in the computer. To protect yourself from any further power you may want to wear an anti-static wristband and connect it to a metal object to ground yourself.

2) Next on your motherboard you need to locate an open RAM slot and push the white clips either side outwards to allow the RAM stick to slot in.

3) Pick up the stick of RAM up with two fingers, one on either side, making sure not to touch any chips or pins.

4) Next insert the stick of ram into the slot on the motherboard making sure that it is the right way around by locating and matching up the divot in the stick and ridge in the RAM slot. Push firmly on both sides of the ram, making sure that both sides enter the slot at the same time. If done propperly you will probably hear a click as the clips snap into place. Once finished, double check that the clips are firmly in place by gently pushing them in towards the RAM.
