Use

Jigsaws are often used when building custom cases from scratch, in particular when cutting aluminium or steel case panels. These tools can make crosscuts, bevels, miters, plunge cuts and scrolling curved cuts.

Most commonly found as a corded model, cordless models are commonly available. These tools are often found with various attachments such as variable speed control, quick release blades, laser lines, dust collection and blade storage.

Tips

  • Jigsaws work best with thinner materials
  • The blade cuts by pulling up so place the front side (good side) face down
  • Use the appropriate blade for the matieral your cutting
  • Use eye and ear protection
  • When cutting straight lines make use of guides to run the jigsaw alongside to achieve accurate cuts.
