Overclocking graphics cards
From TheBestCaseScenario
Overclocking Graphics cards is entirely different to CPU overclocking, this is because all Motherboards have a BIOS (Basic Input Output System) which allows them to access how the CPU works. The BIOS for a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) can not be easily accessed so it is usually completed through software.
For most people the best two are Rivatuner (Nvidia Only) [1] and AtiTool (Ati and Nvidia)[2]
Riva tuner offers software overclocking which can be saved then applied on each overclock, AtiTool can also save the profiles. ATiTool also offers on extra over Rivatuner that's the fact it can run a Video Stress test in the form of a furry cube, this can be used to check for artifacts. So ATiTool can do auto overclocking to the maximum core speeds before it artifacts.
