Just got back from Maker Faire 07 in Austin.
Saw alot of great stuff. Highlights were the Austin Modders, Steampunk ray guns, and the Adobe booth where you had 5 minutes to make a tshirt that combined video, laser cutting, and air brushing. Mucho fun.
Couple of things that I thought were of interest. There's going to be a communal workshop in Austin also. (I think I saw a post about one in CA in the forums). It'll have a laser cutter, plasma cutter, and cnc mill available for use. It's still in the planning stages but should gel in the next few months.
Also saw a sculpture that a guy created in sketchup and printed out a prototype using unfolding software (pepakura). Definitely useful for prototyping parts for mods.

I'm know there's more to tell but I'll post more after I sleep.
