Hi everyone. if you do or used to play battlefield 2 you may be interested to know that there is a free mod for it named project reality. it takes the bf2 engine and tries to make the game as realistic as posable. lots of things are taken into account, even if you bail out of a moving vehical you will take damage or maybe die depending on its speed. so if any of you bf2 players want to have a real experiance check out project reality

Seems like a good idea. Hopefully they didn't take a good concept and cock the whole thing up. I'll probably check it out later.

glad at least one person has an interest here. its a bit of a big download as they have really changed stuff in the game. you may even want to lower your graphics settings a touch. the maps are bigger and more complicated with destructable buildings on some of the newer maps. also kits are limited so you dont have to worry about everyone on the other team being a sniper. its a very difficult game but if your into real team work then this mod is totaly for you.

if by worth playing you mean way more realistic and difficult and not just a frag fest then yes. in this mod you have to acctually work as a team if you dont you will loose almost every time. that means joining a squad and sticking with them or doing something that will help them out instead of just concidering your own score. running and gunning like you can in regular bf2 will simply not work and you will spend alot of time waiting to respawn. every time you die your respawn time gets longer this will help motivate you to not die. beyond that equipment spawn times are long. so if someone just takes a helicopter and crashes you have to wait 20 minutes for another one to respawn in its place. equipment is a valuable asset and should be handled as such. jets arent just high speed taxi's

Since when? Why can you eject then? hehehe

JK!

It's been a long time since I tried this mod. I will have to download it again to see what they have done.

Might find this handy, Mod Index for BF2 Here (http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/page.php?do=modifications&styleid=5)

EDIT: Point of Existence 2 was always my favorite, very very realistic.

I love teamwork and tactics. Get someone to coordinate it all and do a good job and I'll be happy. I don't care about score. I care about having fun. Crysis MP would've been really fun if people played right and didn't turn into hopping retards with no skills except for the ability to move around like a clown on crack all the time, hahaha.

I'll see if this runs on my temporary video card... it's like a GeForce 4400 or some crap like that.

i dont know how mods work but, do you have to have the game or do you just download that and you have the mod?

i dont know how mods work but, do you have to have the game or do you just download that and you have the mod?

in order to play this you need to have battle field 2 installed and the latest patch.

game mods work on the princaple that 3rd party programers and graphic artists use the existing game frame work to create another game that is typcally free to download and use. some mods have become so popular that the creators have been contracted by game companies to ensure the mod will exist for sequls to the orriginal game. a great example of that is counter strike.

I played it a few months to a year ago, and it wasnt too my liking except for the new maps and some of the altered guns.

I played this mod a while back, wasn't exactly to my tastes but it was beautifully put together. I like how the recoil really affects your aim and how when your health gets into the "red zone" you will eventually bleed out.

ya basicly if you get shot or fall a good distance or do something that would in real life cause you to get messed up pretty good. you better apply a bandage or hope there is a medic arround or your going to blead to death. sometimes one bandage just isnt enough.

version 0.7 is out and the changes make it even more realistic and hard. team play is pretty much required in order to be successfull. ground attack aircraft can no longer just fly arround and kill stuff they require laser targeting from ground units in order to successfully bomb targets

patch update for this now. its up to 0.75. fixes several minor bugs as well as adds new maps and features. this game is a good reason to dig up your old bf2 cd's, especially if you like to play with real team work.

Ohh neat I am gonna try it out this week. I love super realistic shooters like Armed Assault. Plus I just BF2 any way. Have anyone of played the sandbox mod for BF2? It is like a simple version of Gary's mod. You can spawn in game elements and place them.

havent messed with that one yet. still stuck playing Project reality. its just too much fun. sure when you start off there is a bit of a learning curve so read the manual for sure or you wont understand how some things work. you cant simply just hop in a tank and go for glory. you need the right kit loadout to drive vehicals and aircraft and it typicaly takes more then one cruemember to effectively opperate most vehicals. if you wanna play some time PM me and we will arrange it
