We went to see some friends of ours on Sunday and they had a couple betta fish in two little fish bowls. I did not hear this from our friend. I asked my wife what possessed her to buy fish and she explained that they came from a wedding that they attended. I guess my MSH (male selective hearing) protected me from this stupid information when I was at their house.
I am not making this up. They went to a wedding and the people putting on the show put little fish bowls as the centerpieces of the tables at the reception. She came home with three of them because other people did not want to take home their fish bowls. One of her fish died and she gave my daughter one of her other two fish. We took him home and named him Finnegan. My wife had to buy a bigger fish bowl and some distilled water.
I still can’t believe this madness. Why would people push fish off on people who attend their wedding? I bet that over 70% of the fish die a horrible stinky death in the local sewer system. PETA should be all over this insanity. My wife told me that this is the new trendy thing to do at weddings. I hope that the next new trendy thing to do isn’t unleashing puppies and kittens at weddings.
