Now that all the threads have been more specified, you can see 3 monitor threads by me. But now I finally have one. And the best part is that it was a gift. It's a 24" Samsung LCD. 5ms response time and a resolution of 1920x1200

Also, I'm aware that my desk may be messy :P

I'm still trying to decide whether 24" LCD > two 21" CRTs.

Desk space, or durability... hmmmmm.

Now, when they make LCDs half the cost and able to take a boot to the screen, then I'll go for it. :D

LCD's are way cheaper than they used to be. And if your looking to buy those 21" crt's brand new they are still going to cost quite a lot.

And why are you going to be booting your screen? I've never had an issue with something hitting my screen.

I have my 22" gateway with the samsung panel and I love it. I only wish it had those few extra pixels to hit 1080. Oh well. Its nice and i like it. Games would be that much harder to run if I got a higher res monitor.

Got 'em for $30 apiece from a guy on Craigslist.

And I'm rough on equipment - all my cases get scratched and dented, and one of my old monitors (since given away) has been dropped 2' onto hardwood (and survived, with only slight fuzziness). On the other hand, my buddy's LCD has a permanent blemish from a minor collision (during transport) that a CRT would've shaken off - bumped against the corner of his case I believe.

I also like being able to run any 4:3 resolution I want, especially since my video cards are always a step behind the times. (My gaming PC was an x1600Pro until a week ago.)
