VR-Zone claims to have some benchmarks of NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce 9600 GT graphics card, which will be the first of the GeForce 9 series of cards that the company will release. However, as always with benchmarks for unreleased products, take these with a pinch of salt – as often as not they’re totally made up.

Sounds interesting, I would have believed that this card would have performed just a little bit better. Oh well, only time will tell.

I also just found this that may be of interest to you.
This may be the first review of the 9600GT:
http://www.techpowerup.com/?49647
(You will find the review as a link in the paragraph)
The review is in Chinese or Japanese so skip through to have a look at the benchmarks, the review is 16 pages long.

From what I gathered this card scores something like 11,800 in 3Dmark06 out scoring the 512mb 8800GTSby a couple of hundred points. This isn't conclusive due to me not being able to tell what the rest of the test rig is.

that would be wicked if that stuff was true, if it is i can see the newer 9800GT/GTX/Ultra hitting 30k in sli in 3dmark06.

I'm a little curious... is it really the 9600GT? If so what is it going to cost?

I have no idea. I can't read the Chinese or whatever the review is. I would expect it to cost around the same as the new 8800GTS maybe a bit less maybe a bit more.

i'm not sure of the price when it first came out but my 8600GT was only 130. so i'm thinking tops 200 since its a mid level card.

Any body seen the guy who bought 2 8800GTs and ended up with getting 2 9600GTS instead?!? He has apparently sold them to PCPerspective for a price of $630. He only paid $400 for the 2 88GT's.. Was a 256MB ve5rsion he was selling them because he didn't have the drivers.

The pics there are crap, there are much better quality ones on other forums, but Ryan the Admin bought them. So keep eyes peeled for 9600GTs in SLI from them.

i don't believe it, all the pictures where blurred and s***. maybe once there out i can see them being sold but it's fake to me.

See those gills just to the right of the SLI connector? It looks just like the 8800GT without the stickers and crap.

*coughs* As for the 9600GTs, I'm a little unsure. He either is really crap with cameras..... or he got pictures elsewhere.

Yea whatever. Nobody is that bad with a camera. I'd like to be proven wrong though, it would be cool if someone got a pair.

If someone can link to a picture that would remove all doubt... that would be nice. Take off the heatsink and all that and show the chipset. Those usually say what model they are don't they?

If you look further down the age there is a link to another thread which the guys he supposedly sold them to started, he took new and clear pics. I will see if I can find it.

It's better to get a 8800GT. But I know a few over clockers will get it.

This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500019) is the only card that isn't green, from a company I've never even heard of...

WHY? lol what happened to all the pretty colors and option to color match with your motherboard? :(

I tend to agree with you on that, but it is $100 less then the 8800GT and from the article I saw on BitTech its not that far behind in performance. So its pretty good bang for the buck at this time.

meh, sometimes I wish I lived in america too, here in holland the 9600GT comes at a price of 155 - 190 euros (at stock speeds) which is about 228 - 280 dollars. I have waited so long for this card to come out, because I wanted a 9-series card. But if the prices don't drop I might have to go for a 8800...
