I can find loads of usb to serial adapters, but I would like my old laptop to hook up with some newer devices, is there such an adapter? if so, plz post link

edit: could you get a serial to ps2, then a ps2 to usb conector and add in power seperate?... nvm.. I wouldn't beable to get drivers for that...
edit, nvm, I think I'll just use a CardBus usb adapter

I'm thinking there could be some serious driver issues with USB device going into a serial port, I'd check out the devices you want ahead of time. (I'm assuming something of the sorts exists)

i have seen one once... its sold by Seimans for use with it's PLC controllers. costs about 80 bucks. not sure it's worth it.

I think the serial port would be way too slow, especially for USB 2.0. The card would probably be the best thing.

Yeah it's sometimes hard to part with your old friend, maybe you could put it on display or something? haha just trying to help :)
