EPIC WIN! That is one of the funniest things I have seen in the last few weeks!
When did they fire that thing anyway?
I think the first firing of it is just under 9 hours from this post.

the best parts are in the website code:
<script type="text/javascript">
if (!(typeof worldHasEnded == "undefined")) {
document.write("YUP.");
} else {
document.write("NOPE.");
}
</script>
<!-- if the lhc actually destroys the earth & this page isn't yet updated

But, somehow, somebody thought it was 10:30 eastern time, when, in reality, it was like 2:30 in the morning, since it was 7:30 GMT, and Eastern time is -5 hours. Most everybody had found that out at least a few minutes before 10:30. I had a friend who was pulling somebody's leg, and saying that it got delayed, and we'd all be dieing later. Really, that was pretty much just to see if it turned on and worked, since they won't be doing any heavy particle colliding until October 28th.
