I've been trying to find the safe operating temperature range for my HD 4670 cards, but I'm not having any luck at all, can anyone point me in the right direction?

video cards can deal with heat better then cpu's can so as long as your within 70-80C (load) you will be fine temp wise.

found this from a review on the card

Once we start stressing the GPU the temp goes up big-time, we level at roughly 83 Degrees C. Though a lot for this product it's still perfectly normal though. (http://www.guru3d.com/article/ati-radeon-hd-4670-review/4)

i personally, regardless of card, like to keep my vga temps below 60C and my cpu temps below 50C but as said higher temps are fine.

an easy thing to do is change out the thermal paste, provided it doesn't void the warranty.

i agree with the 80c roof. but i also agree with trying to keep everything cool. you didnt build a kenmore oven, you built a computer. check out like ati tray tools, or google the hotfix for the 4k series cards and play with some fan speeds and what not. gl and let us no what happens.

Appreciate the input, fellas. This may not even be an issue, but I'm swapping out VGA coolers in the next couple of days and plan to run the fan at less than the specified voltage for noise reasons, and I wanted to know what to look out for. More news as it happens. :)

i know i run about 30% fan speed on my 4870 and it is silent. i cant hear it above anything else in my case. you might be okay by just setting the fan low.
