Now available in White (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220532) or Black (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220530) for just $409! Thats cheaper than the previous model, the 1002HA (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220480) at $429, although still not as cheap as the first "HA" model, the 1000HA (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=50001315%2040000772&Description=1000HA&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&CompareItemList=N82E16834220535,N82E16834220534) at $349.
The new improvements over the yesterday's model includes; Atom 1.66GHz, 10.1" Screen Size, 0.23 lbs lighter, Higher Capacity Polymer Battery rated for 6 hours of battery life (One of the major drawbacks of the 1002HA was the rated 5 hours that only achieved 3.5 hours at full settings. Update: It's a 3 Cell Polymer [1002HA is 2 Cell Polymer] giving you about 4 Hours on average), New Improved Chassis Design (subject to personal taste, of course).
Unfortunately, this one does come with a few drawbacks; 2 USB (1002HA and most netbooks have 3 USB), 0.25" Thicker at its thickest point and only 0.01" thinner at its thinnest point, Mini-VGA (external converter for 15-pin D-sub included, fits into/under chassis), Extreme Fingerprint Magnet with the Black version (matte would of been niiice), Non-removable Battery (ouch!), No "easy access" options (no little compartment doors for easy upgrading, in other words), 3 Cell Polymer Battery (Rated 6 hours, real world rating at about 4 hours on average).
The Bottom Line with this netbook is easy to see. Asus took the already sleek and sexy 1002HA and decided to not only bring it up to date with the latest tech (albeit with a few drawbacks), but they also decided to make it even sleeker and sexier than ever before. Lets face it, as far as netbook aesthetics go, you can't get much sexier than this.
