Today at work (Micro Center) they had a vendor conference where every manufacturer who does business or wants to do business with the company, comes to check out the store. I spoke with the OCZ rep (and she is incredibly gorgeous!) extensively about their SSD drives and how on my end there is no rival. I then showed her my Rage in the Machine case that I have on display at the store.

She said it would be awesome if I could do an OCZ theme case! She said they'll hook me up with their biggest and baddest SSD and their most powerful PSU. She even said that they have a huge back stock of RAM and they would provide that too!
All I have to do is build it, display it in the store and send her pics of it. Then it's mine to keep!!
I have her card, she has mine, time to start planning!

Sorry for missing your call.

Congrats again, can't wait to see your goodies!
Congrats! ...so, for the SSD, you think they would spring for a 512GB e88 Z-drive? :whistler:

I know for a fact that they will give me a Vertex 3 drive. What size? Hopefully 320GB. She said that the project would show off how fast their new V3 drive is.

Does your computer even have a SATA port?! The new OCZ SSD's probably have more bandwidth than your RAM!
Yes it does. Two.
One open.
Albeit SATA 1....

What's the cap on that? 1Gbps?

I think for sata II is 3gb/s and Sata III is 6.
I could be terribly wrong, but can't be bother to google right now lol.

theres also a density limit on SATA-I slots. dunno what it is think its 1.5TB

SATA 1 is 1.5Gbps, II is 3.0 and III is 6.0 - as long as the port is as fast as, or faster than the drive interface, you'll get the best out of it - I think hooking a top of the line SSD to anything less than a Sata III port will slow it down somewhat - you may get away with Sata II depending on the drive (there aren't many Sata III drives out yet) but Sata I will definitely struggle... The Vertex 3 is a 6Gbps drive but you'll still get good performance on a Sata II port, just not the best....
New(er) parts came in with SATA II, so.....

Yeah they'll be fine with SATA II, no point plugging a a Vertex 2 into a SATA I though, it's 0.5 GB/s and the port is 6Gb/s, but one figure is with a lowercase B, and the other isn't...

Well, I got a Fractal Design Define XL and a 300GB Velociraptor.
(I have a friend who actually paid me to try and compete in MDPC. I'm finishing him up a DD Tower 26. Maybe some pics tomorrow.)
To return the thread back to you, I believe you deserve those parts and will make excellent use of them. We want a worklog!
