Is it possible to have 2 mouse pointers going at the same time on the same screen?

I have a usb remote control that controls mouse movment and two buttons. I'd like to be able to have someone use the remote to play poker on one of my screns while i surf the web or change music on the other.

??

You can plug in a bunch of mice... but when I do it the computer just looks for movement. If I move one it moves that way. If I switch to another mouse, it moves that way. If I move more than one it gets confused and does weird things. Same with joysticks.

Also has the same effect when using a laptop, touchpad, AND a mouse.

You don't get two mice on the screen if that is what you are looking for. :(

A possible solution, where you ight get the same affect, is you program the remote and keybaord to do what you want, then you never have to bother about the mouse. You probably have to tab back and forth though.

Excellent idea though... two mice on the screen. C2d would take advantage of that :D!

When I was a senior in high school, my english teacher had 2 mouse pointers show up on her laptop screen. She is not computer savvy and didn't do this on purpose. It just booted up like that for some reason. I have no clue why or how that could have happened. But when the two cursors touched, her laptop crashed.

That's something I never imagine possible, but I must admit that it's a really interesting point.

Let me just add something here for those who wonder why I always look for things like that. I'm not a gamer, but I'm totally impress by what the gamer's world offer to the other users. I dont think the average peoples see what the gamers have done to the computer world. Just an exemple here: as an editor, I spend hours in front of my screens, cutting, pasting, moving from a window to another. My latest addition is the Gamepad Belkin NOSTROMO n52. This little TOY offerred me to do the exact same work but without moving. If I could now just add the "mouse fonction" to this gamepad, I'm sure it will speed up my work a lot. So I made some research for it, and here's what I found:

I know it can b done with Linux (LINK, in french sorry (http://www.lea-linux.org/cached/index/Trucs:Utiliser_2_souris_avec_XFree3_et_en_mode_tex te_(console).html))
I also found a little add-on for Win98-ME but dont work under XP (http://www.cs.umd.edu/hcil/mid/)
Maybe this one would work, I'll give it a try tonight (http://cpnmouse.sourceforge.net/)

I found most of my links from here (http://www.michaelbuffington.com/articles/2003/07/21/multiple-mouse-cursors), there's more then what I provide, but I was lazy ;)

ControlMK

http://www.redcl0ud.com/controlmk/index.html

Which emulates the keyboard and mouse using game controllers. Exacly what slytherock was searching, right? :) I use it, and it works perfecly. You can use a joystick, gamepad or anything that is considered as a game controller to emulate your mouse and keyboard. It won't allow you to use multiple cursors, but will allow you to move your mouse cursors with your joypad :)

sorry, that's not what I'm looking for. I already use the Nostromo as a keyboard. I can also use the controller as a mouse, but not useful. I want to try a second mouse pointer. I was going to try what I post right now. I'll keep you update. :)

Nice find BTW ;)

They will tell you that such a function is not supported by Microsoft Windows and a big Sorry :) I know it, cause I already asked if there was a way to convert my Windows XP from french to english and they replied to the negative.

We're not talking of the same thing here. You asked for a complete transformation of your OS. Canabalistic ask for an improvment of the OS, an addon.

Im trying to get this to work but the files they have on that site, dont contain cpnmouse.sys for XP SP2... Where did you find it?

I've installed cpnmouse.inf but the archive's didnt contain the other file.

"CPN Tools mouse filter driver" should be available. Select it.

I cant get this option, im going to restart and see if that fixes it.

Still nothing... Maybe this is because its not actually a mouse?

Its an EPSON Presentation Remote Control Kit.

Have you tried this? (http://cpnmouse.sourceforge.net/unknown.html)

Ahh, i've figured it out. The problem i was having was with the ordinary archive. It actually contains the binary files and the binary archive contains the executable.

One major problem however, it doesnt support extended desktops. It stops both mice from leaving the primary monitor. Making this program useless for dual monitor setups.
