I have a couple glass top computer desks and i started thinking...

it'd be pretty cool to use the frame that holds up the glass as one side of the computer.. and build the rest of it with the same material so it looks built in. The glass would act as the window.

It may look weird with only one section of an entire desk with something under it so possibly just build a "shelf" deal under it (like those old-school, school desks (http://kapgar.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/desk.jpg), except thinner) specially made to put x-box, ps2,etc in there as well to fill up the space and add all the lighting and goodies. maybe some water cooling? hook up some switches on the side and run the wiring inside the square frame.

cooling may be an issue so maybe a couple 60mm fans on each side and one or two going down with switches for optional leg warmers? haha

I like the Idea but 60mm fans may cause a sound problem might be better with a bigger slowspining fan.

I think it would be pretty uncomfortable to look down at the desk all the time.. ymmv. :D

I have "modded" a couple of desks in the past (no sorry no pictures, it was before I had a camera, back in the early '80's).

One was a glass top desk where we mounted the screen at a perfect angle under the desk, so only the person sitting at the desk could see the monitor. Wasn't that bad once you got used to it. I do think that if you spent much time coding or just plain typing you might get a kink in the neck. The guy we did it for had 4 or 5 things on his desk and didn't want to clutter it with a monitor. So he paid my Friend and I twice what he paid for the computer to hide it. Lawyers...

I didnt mean the monitor down there as well, only the tower.
