I just installed my new video and sound card. (the ht omega claro KICKS A**!)
anyways... I went with the Geforce 7950GT 512mb because its SLI and cheaper for the time being. Later when I do run SLI it will be faster than the 8800gts I was planing on getting.
Problem:
Core clock- 565MHz (check)
Memory clock- 715MHz (supposed to be 1430!)
EDIT:: also, im runing the stock drivers. I went to the site and im not sure which to download - the "7025 and 7050 series" or just the "7 series"
newegg has the card listed under 7series but im kinda leaning towards the "7050" because of the "7950"

You aren't looking at it right... GDDR2 memory, right?
What's 715 x 2?
And I can't help with the drivers, though I imagine that 7050 would be right.

I tried 'em and it said they weren't compatible so I installed the 7 series. Why do they set it up like that? wouldnt it be just as easy to just pick your model.

sorry i can't help, but did you take any pictures of your finished (component wise) system? if so can you post them with the rest of the pictures in this thread (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9006).

It's finished but i slopped the remaining together to get it running like I should have in the beginning.
I'm going to strip it down again and paint the interior of the case, throw in some cathodes, new heatsink and possibly a window. I'll be sure to put pics up of the finished product though :)

Is that really what the 2 stands for in GDDR2? I thought GDDR2 just tells you what type of memory is on the video card. I though it was the DDR part in GDDR that tells you to multiply by 2 because it means Double Data Rate. I think the spec sheet for that card is telling you the clock speed while your PC program/utility is displaying the bus speed. But yes, you do multiply by 2 and your card is running fine.
EDIT:
Just found out about your driver "issue". You download the 7 series driver. The 7050 and 7025 are motherboard GPUs (link (http://www.nvidia.com/object/motherboard_gpus.html)).
