Hi, okay well i have an IBM Netvista and... it sucks. I bought a pci graphics card for it and for some stupid reason it doesnt work.

So my plan is to sell the graphics card to my friend for £40 (it works on his pc)

Sell my pc for as much as i can

And work a few days at £40 a day im working monday and wednesday this week and might do thurs and a few days next week

I want to get a new pc with pci-e slots, decent processor and at least a gb of ram and decent gfx card.

My IBM netvista
Pentium 4 2.2Ghz
1GB RAM
40GB hardrive + 80GB hardrive (both Maxtor)
DVD player and recorder
CD player and recorder
Windows XP professional
Intel onboard gfx and sound

SO! how much is this rig worth?? £10, £100, £1000 i dont know. Im hoping to sell it to a guy up my road but need a price to state as i dont want to rip him off or be ripped off. If i dont sell it i will sell it on ebay.

Budget
So im going to get £80 this week (maybe £120)
Money from pc
and £40 from mate
And maybe another £80 or £120 next week

so if i work 4 days in 2 weeks and get £100 from pc i have a budget of £300

And if i work 6 days in 2 weeks and get £100 frm pc i have a budget of £380

And if i work 5 days in 2 weeks and get £100 frm pc i have a budget of £340

BUT i may get more money from pc or less :(

Any ideas on how much my pc could fetch???:?

Also anyone know any decent rigs that i can get for my £300+ budget

Thanks

I'd say $200-$250 depending on where you sell it. If you can find a place to sell it locally then probably $250, if its online then you probably won't get more than $200.

Hope that helps,

It's worth what someone will pay for it ... given you have just described it as "it sucks", on here it now has little value, relatively speaking.

In the UK current value of the kit you have described is about £100 if you find a private buyer.

All your components are OK except the mobo, graphics and prolly powerpack n ram so why don't you sell the powerpack, mobo, chip, heatsink, fan and ram on ebay and just buy a new mobo chip, heatsinkand fan and memory etc to replace them. (yeah I know that just means the whitebox and the disks are good lol :D )

At stratford computer fair you could buy a mobo, dual core Athlon processor 1Gig of Ram and a 512Mb Graphics card + 500W power pack for £200 or thereabouts if you haggle and shop around.
