Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Best Regards to all at TBCS. I have a minor interest in computer building and have put together a couple of mini towers with the help of my friend John who is what I would regard as a master. Keeping up to date with the latest technological innovations is mind boggling to me. I'm 64 years old and my interest in computers began 20years ago. The changes now come at a hyper-acclerated rate. One of my current hobbies if flying remote control helicopters. I did a search on Google for info on airbrush painting and there seems to be a wealth of knowledge on this site regarding airbrushing.

Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Hello TBCS
I've been modding my first case for a couple of months now
and would love to get feedback on what I have done and gain some new ideas.
I love the sharing of ideas and seeing how creative other people are.
I love the concept of modifying and repurposing.
Also to get some thoughts on how to solve some modding problems I am experiencing.

Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Hi there TBCS.
I have been bitten by the mod bug, and have decided to enter the realm of case modding. I have been browsing this site for a while now, and I must say that there are some incredible mods created by the community here. I am sure that there will be plenty of info and experience for me to rely on when I get going on my first project.

Hey all. Long time lurker second time poster. Had forgotten my old account name/password, although I had only posted once or twice anyways(more then a year ago that is :P). So I finally decided to make a fresh account. Look forward to becoming an active part of the modding community this time around.

Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Hi all, I've always been interested in case design/modding, and now I finally have a site where I can look at people's ideas to get my creative juices flowing (I'm sure it's just the creative ones..). All my life I have been modding my cases, really ghetto-fab, tho, and ATM I am working on one. You all may laugh, but things are much different in a third world country (yes, I live in one of those...they still exist). The mod I am doing right now involves the following - Generic Aluminum case (this one was for about $10), 300w Power Supply, some old motherboard, Intel Celeron 1.2Ghz, 256kbcache, 133fsb, 4x256mb sdram 133, 2x40gb ide hd (hopefully I can get these in raid). The motherboard does not have an AGP slot, so I won't be able to use my Geforce4 MX440... Using the original Heatsink, along with a chassis-mounted cpu fan pulled from a dell optiplex. Using same concept as the Dell, except i'm building my own shroud out of cardboard and tape, and I might end up "turbo-charging" it by adding more cardboard on the bottom and add a fan to push into the sink as well. Will have photos of this in a thread soon, and I might end up showing off my ghetto lighting skills. Should be one of my more fun projects.

And a third welcome, and yes, we might laugh at first because we're all nasty horrible people. No seriously - modding is all about what you do with something, not what you start off with, so dive right in, you'll be more than welcome here...

Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Hello I was referred here through a friend of a friend. You guys seem to have some innovative ideas so I'm thrilled to be here.
Do you guys do any console mods? I found your for sale forum and I'm gonna post my 360 in there soon, but I couldn't quite find a forum dedicated to console mod ideas. (long story short I'm gonna have an extra 360 that I can use for projects and whatnot)

Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Hey Everybody,
New guy here, never modded before but I have been doing straight builds since the PC XT/AT days of the 1980's. My last biuld was around 3 to 4 years ago, kinda fell off the scene since. Starrting a new build soon and really impressed with what is out there now. Big changes, even more so in the prices. Hell I remember when a hot 486 would cost an arm and a leg plus other human parts thrown in. You guessed it I'm a little on the "old" side, 38 to be exact so bear with me on some of my oint of views. I was doing some research and stumbled on this site. Looks pretty cool! Thanks in advance. Oh yeah from South Jersey just outside of Philly!!
Thanks,
Valsmere

Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Hey I'm glad I finally took the plunge and signed up. I have been looking at the mods done by the members here for awhile. Totally awesome. As an artist who mainly does mixed media and altered art I found myself fascinated with the art being created here with pc's. The first thing I did right after signing up was go out and get an old 90's Apple IMAC. (I like challenges lol). So now it's on to the planning stage. Look forward to having lots of fun and interesting conversations and brainstorming with everybody. :) Proud member of a great community.

Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Just so the forum machinery will stop making me feel guilty for not posting, I'll drop an intro...
I'm Robotguy (http://robotguy.net/blog). I don't normally do PC case mods, though I did put a mini-ITX in a nice oak card catalog box a while back to use as a network MP3 Jukebox. I am currently working on a desktop photobioreactor (AKA algae tank) and have been perusing the TBCS forum for inspiration and how-to's. Specifically, I have been fascinated by Filimon's steampunk work and hope to do something along the same lines, although I can guarantee my attention to detail is several orders of magnitude lower. Maybe I'll post a pic or two in the Misc section...

Re: TBCS New Members Introductory Thread
Hello people!
Let me introduce myself, I am Loki, 21 years, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I've been into modding since 2006, I have no much projects I can call my own, but I have helped some modders making special custom pieces for their machines (I have a CNC mill) :D
I knew this website as the greatest modding site in the world from a long time ago.. when the projects Doom 3 and Alien queen reservoir first appeared, back in 2005 :)
I'll be posting some of my works in cnc fangrills and other stuff soon, so stay tuned!!
Thanks
