Didn't the 8900 GPU turn out being the 8800GT anyway? I'm happy with my 8800GTX.

Yup and I`m waiting for Radeon 3800 then we will see what Ati/Amd bring to fight with Nvidia
I'm interested to see how AMD/ATI are going to integrate their cores into their systems. There were rumors that they were going to integrate the GPU straight onto their motherboards so the northbridge, southbridge, CPU and GPU would become a single unit together. This may be difficult due to having no upgrade path but may lower overall system costs. Because they are a single company now they can make both the CPU and GPU work perfectly with each other, there may even be some bonuses by doing things this way, who knows. Only time can tell.

yeah, I am most definitely waiting for the HD3870, since it will probably will beat the 8800GT. The problem is, right after ATI launches the HD3800s then nVidia is going to be releasing an even newer version of the 8800GTS; which is essentially an 8800GT with support for 1GB of VRAM, 16 more shader units and a higher core clock. (Article Here) That is expected to beat the 8800 Ultra by a mile.

Holy crap that does sound good, can't wait to see how that new Nvidia chip performs. After reading that article it may well beat the 8800GTX but I don't think it will top the Ultra, I think Nvidia has something else up their sleeve.
A bit off topic but I was just wondering. I am building a PC for my brother (dad is paying ) and currently I have the 8800GTS 320mb card on the list, I was just wondering if the 8800GT out performs this card, seeing that it is about $100AUS more and has faster clocks.
