Don't know yet. The two joke 'Office Superstores' in my town had some bitchin deals on hard drives last year.
I've yet to see some ads though.
Black friday?
The day afte Thanksgiving. AKA, the FIRST big shopping day of the Christmas Season.
From the wiki
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season in the United States. Since Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November, Black Friday may be as early as the 23rd and as late as the 29th day of November. Retailers often decorate for the Christmas season weeks beforehand. Many retailers open very early (typically 5 A.M.) and offer doorbuster deals and loss leaders to draw people to their stores. Although Black Friday, as the first shopping day after Thanksgiving, has served as the unofficial beginning of the Christmas season at least since the start of the modern Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924, the term "Black Friday" has been traced back only to the 1970s. "Black Friday" was originally so named because of the heavy traffic on that day, although most contemporary uses of the term refer instead to it as the beginning of the period in which retailers are in the black (i.e., turning a profit).
Target is selling 22" westinghouse LCD monitors for 179.99 with no rebates on black friday.
I can't get one since I work at 5:30 AM on black friday
In England we have a time honoured tradition for such eventualities called "doing a sickie".
When you do a sickie, you go shopping or whatever else you need to do and your wife/friend/neighbour calls work and says you are in bed throwing up the curry you ate last night which must have given you food poisoning.
There's already a thread in the hot deals section with links to some stores...
One store has an Antec 900 for 69.99
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, con a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyse a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects"
Robert A. Heinlein
Just in case no one has this link, I will post it. It is updated all the time.
