    Default Painting questions

hello im planning on painting my guitar hero 3 (wii) guitar. Im planning on doing a black and white rising sun pattern on it and had a few questions

the plastic is pretty shiny, should i sand first? but i plan on leaving parts white and still want a nice finish. also (correct me if im wrong) im assuming the stencling out the pattern in painters tape will be ok, is there a way to insure that my edges will look good (so you there would be a noticable difference in the texture around the edges)

i intend on using krylon fusion

here a quick photoshop jod of what im looking to do.

Yeah, you need to sand the surface a little bit or you run the risk of the paint not adhering well. I know Krylon Fusion is made for plastic but you still want to prep the surface.

Sand with 600 grit sandpaper. You can get it in most stores in the automotive section or at an automotive store.

Yes, you can use regular masking tape. If you paint one portion and your going to put masking tape on a place you've already painted make sure you first put a coat of clear on it. This is how you keep the tape from lifting fresh paint.

Finish the design with a couple of coats of clear enamel at the end.

    I hope this helps.
