    I guess i should have asked this as well. If i use Gparted, will it let me repartition w/out destroying everything or will i kill my current install?

    When you repartition with anything there's a chance you'll kill the install/lose data. I just repartitioned myself (adding more space to my /boot partition for Ubuntu) and now GRUB won't load, so I'm going to have to go in and fix that. Data loss is just part of the territory.

    Maybe I should just wait until i can afford a new copy of windows then. If i mess it up I can't reinstall. I got a free license from school so i only get to use it once. : \

    I think I resized some partitions when installing Ubuntu once, you could give that a shot. And if you install it you don't have to activate it until you're satisfied. Perfectly legal too.
