Ha ha! i think i've got it!

OK, the graphics card is HD for use with the HDMI cables and such. ATI carries sound through the video card to output with the HDMI cable so you dont need to run multiple cords. Since this happened when you installed the videocard its clearly that the videocard stole the sound output.

Go to Control Panel and open the Sounds and Audio Devices. Click on the audio/voice tabs and set the output device to your sound card. The videocard drivers set it to "ATI HD Audio Rear Output" while installing.

    Try that, let me know

Had the SBLive card out since I wasn't using it. The onboard IDT sound drivers will not install. And now that I install the SBLive into the system, Windows cannot see it.

The onboard installation looks like this...

you should have your antivirus and antispyware software turned off while installing drivers.

Did you turn off the onboard sound in your BIOS and forget to turn them back on? You would get that "no device found" error message if it was off.

Or it could be something with the OS. A simple thing you can do is DL ubuntu linux or something then boot it from the CD. You wouldn't have to install it and if it is a windows related issue then you'd know right away.

The ISO for Ubuntu is almost a gigabyte though. But I'm gonna put it on my new machine when I build it.
