Dry Ice && WaterCooling system

Is it possible, or recommended, to put dry ice in such a way that the cool air is drawn over the radiators for extreme benching? I realize that this isn't the same as directly on the CPU but if I wanted to load a little cooler for a bench to be stable, would this work? Would I need to run antifreeze/ isopropyl alcohol instead of water? Do these have as high heat conductance?

Sure. Run antifreeze in the loop, and put the DI on top of the rad, fans on the other side pulling through. Do this where there is excellent ventilation, it will sublime CO2. CO2 will finally displace oxygen given a high enough concentration.

Sucks at LN2, but for DI it's not too bad. Just remember your acetone for that.

Yeah, i've thought about that pot, but this is more just a "i need you to run just a wee bit cooler" sort of thing

i wouldn't want dry ice on my rads with a thin water channel even if there is antifreeze in there.

i would remove the rad and dunk it in ice salt and water with no fans. that will get things chilly. run 10-15% antifreeze.

Yeah, slush box works too.

Depending on ambient and rad temp,though, the dice trick still works.
