were they more then normal 1/2" solder style ball valves? i seem to recall them(solder style) being about $10 which was more then i wanted to spend, if they were $5 i would have grabbed some so i could detach my pc from my rad/pump case.

I've used a LOT of PEX over the years. Good stuff, and a bit bigger ID than average, so there's more flow.
