    Default iMaaaAACKK! G5 display....

I got this from one of my friends. Free He said it had display problems.
Didn't realize how severe it was.

    Pics:

Weirdest part is when I have the fortune of it displaying correctly:

    (hand shaky there)

Now, I agree that Apple has some of the best products. It's the put-together and the not-much-longevity-of-newer-products that kinda bugs me.

So, MoBo, screen itself, or just bad cable?

I'd start by checking the cable and internal connections. It looks similar to what happens when the connection to a laptop screen fails.

Well, I suppose a good place to start would be here.

    GAAAAKKKKK!

OK, I got the new cable today.
    That wasn't the problem.

    Any other thoughts?

It could be that the LCD panel itself is dead, although if that were the case, the artifacts on the screen would probably stay the same no matter what was being displayed, which does not seem to be the case. The other option is that something is wrong with the video chipset. If that is the case, there's nothing you can do about it.

That's video card. Pull the proc and ram and toss the shell on Ebay.

Any way of testing the board, and/or the screen?

I have a Gateway 17" monitor with the same physical connector.

    Go/no go for electrical hookup?
