    Default Project: HAVOK

Hey all. New to the site and wanted to post the build I'm working on.

I've been dreaming of building up a high-end system that I could not only game on, but also stream, edit videos and it use to run some game servers at the LAN events I run/attend. Well, this system is turning out to be a beast.

    HARDWARE
    CPU: Core i7-3960X
    Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth X79
    GPU: 2 x ASUS GTX680's
    RAM: 64GB Kingston HyperX Predator
    SSD: 2 x Kingston HyperX SSD's in RAID0
    Storage: 4 x WD 1TB Raptors in RAID0
    Cooling: Corsair H100
    Case: Enermax FULMO
    PSU: LEPA 1,600W

    THE MOD
You may have heard of Bob Stewart over at BS MODS (http://www.bsmods.com/). His work has been featured in CPU Magazine, multiple websites and he's done a lot of work for vendors at shows like CES and PAX. His painting skills are unmatched and I knew I had to have him paint this case.

I told Bob I knew I wanted an old school hot rod type of theme. I wanted a metallic silver base with a candy purple flames. Beyond that, I let him run free. The pics below are the final results of his paint work.

Here's what the case looked like before he started

    Here's the PSU before paint

Time to lay down the base coat of paint

As you can see, its got a great metallic flake to it

Now time to custom mix the candy purple

    Red & Blue makes Purple

Now that the purple is mixed, its time to layout the flames and paint

Bob figured out a custom way to paint the acrylic so the side panel with the window could also have the flames

Here's the power supply painted with the silver and flames

And now for the final pics of the completed paint job

As you can see, BS Mods did an excellent job with the painting of this case. I'm currently waiting for the motherboard and video cards to arrive. When they do, I'll post the progress of the build along with the final pics.

Thanks for taking a look at the build.

The paint is beautiful, nice job. But the case looks kinda sad empty.
I think we can make that fit.

I've got parts in the build now. However, I found that the Corsair H100i would not fit at the top of the case and clear the board heatsinks on the ASUS Sabertooth X79. Now I have some water cooling parts on order. When I get them, it should be all systems go! I can't wait to get this thing built.

Surprisingly, a lot of people don't know how primary colors work. Didn't everyone get to do finger painting in kindergarten?
