Would this be stupid?

I want the best of graphics and best TV tuner. and possibly somday to run in crossfire. so..........

I am thinging about getting this card ATI 100-714800 All-In-Wonder Radeon X1900 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 Video Card for TV abilities and this card ATI 100-435721 Radeon X1900 CrossFire Edition 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card for graphics.

I also want to use the digital outputs and not use the analog, plus this could give me the option of hooking up another 2 monitors(total 4)

IS this a sweet ass setup.....or have I lost my mind and I am wasting money?

If you have any other advise, please let me know!

You said you were going to someday run Crossfire. I think that you are wasting money on the All in Wonder. I would buy a stand alone TV Tuner. Once you get Crossfire, then you can think about more than one monitor (if you got the money too). So save some money by not getting the All in Wonder. Anyways, running 3 1900s is going to be hot and will require a huge PSU.

Newegg has some really nice ones for 80-150 bucks. Digital, multi-channel audio, all that.

if you have media center edition make sure the card is going to support media center, I found out the hard way that most tuner aren't made for MCE.

well..........I decided to go with the x1900 All-In-Wonder. thats it.


I was pushing my budget trying to get both cards and I figure the ATI AIW should be enough for anything I want to do...for now. and if I need more I can always upgrade.

thanks.......I believe I breifly looked at that card when I was thinking about a seperate video card.


I just figured that if I upgrade later it probably wouldnt be for a few years anyway....and an all in one card seemed good to only take up one slot.


Thats the problem with building your own computer...TOO MANY CHOICES!!!

Choices are good. It sure beats buying a PC with the option of only choosing to add a TV tuner (some generic cheap one) or none.
