    ya i actually used that calculator. i am planning on doing sli with the 8800gtxs in the future (which im sure takes quite a lot of power) so i wanted this psu to be somewhat upgrade friendly

    Get something a step above what you need. You might get away with running some cheap power supply for a while, but if its running at 99% it won't last very long (2 to 3 years mabey). You really don't want to take that chance with high end gear because sometimes when the psu dies it takes other stuff down with it (our old family computer had that happen).

    ya thats actually what i did. when i build my new system it will probably only need about 500-600 watts, but after i upgrade it with sli and such, it is going to need about 700w, which is why i chose a 750w
