Hey guys, I'm just wondering whats the highest temp your CPU has EVER reached. Like 65C, 34C, -15C (damn phase change cooling).
Well, let the posting comence!

Got an AMD 1.2ghz that idles at about 50degC with no overclock. Went to about 55 under load.
The hottest I've ever gotten one was pretty bad. Didn't have any way to check the temp, but the fan on my overclocked P2 500 (I think. One of the big black box ones), stuck. First I knew, there was an odd smell, and the boot stopped. It never booted again. Had to fork out for a new CPU, back when those were expensive.

A couple of months ago my P4 3.0 got pretty hot. I needed a new mobo so some guy had to install it (got it for free because of warrenty). The guy didn't hook up the CPU fan, and it was reaching 108 C in a few minutes, it would then shut off. I learned a aluable lesson, never buy from a company again, and NEVER let anyone install a new mobo beside yourself.
47 and that was after about 7 hours of gaming.
