A simple ram problem?

So I am having the age old problem of Windows XP Pro, with 4 gigs of ram. obviously old 3 show up, and this has to do with different addressing issues with the 32bit operating system. But this is not what bothers me, I knew something like this would happen, and to my knowledge its not bad for my computer in anyway. I was planning on being prepared for vista, or Ubuntu 64 on a different partition. I have the computer running at 1333 fsb, and other then the ram only registering at the expected ~3.4gigs, I have had no other problems.

So my problem is my 1066MHz ram will boot up stock 800MHz and 5-5-5-18 1.85v. The ram says its 1066MHz, at 5-5-5-15 timings and 2.2v. So I start my over clocking in order to get my moneys worth out of the over priced hardware. When I set the clock to a 5:4 ratio, making the fsb 1333, ram 1066, set the timings manually to 5-5-5-15. I booted it up but forgot to increase the voltage, and shortly after being in windows it crashed. I upped the voltage (temperatures still in the ~53c (133F)) and made sure it was stable for while. Things are going great, and the speed increase almost seems noticeable. Played some games for a while, however when I checked my system properties windows only recognizes 2.7 gigs of the 4 now.

I have no idea why, and am just wondering if there is anything else I can do to get a little bit more out of my Windows xp pro machine?

Put the clock to what you have before and see if it detects the same amount of RAM as it did before.
