Frosted effect

Ok, I think I have come up with a theme for my case....problem is I dont know how to go about it.

I want the case to look like its encased in ice. One of the things I am going to do is put a Plexiglass window on but want to give is a frosted affect.

Does anyone know how I would go about this?

You can get prefrosted plexi, however to do something like in the picture, using some sandpaper and sanding the plexi should give a frosting effect. I think you want to use a medium grit paper, nothing to coarse, and nothing too far over 1000 grit. I haven't done this before but I know others here have, hopefully they can provide more insight.

thats a nice case, but I was thinking more like something that will hide the inside too, just letting the blue lights show, thanks

I just used Transparent metallic airbrush paint and sprayed my whole window, it's not completely frosted but it does blur it enough to see the details a bit.

Well, since you brought it up, Mach. LOL. That stuff works pretty good! you have to do mutiple coats to get it to be really frosted to the point of being translucent. But that also allows you to give some areas more depth than others if you were to mask off some areas. You could create the effect of ice cycles hanging down by give them more frost than the rest of the panel. Just an idea.
