I saw it linked on www.makezine.com and www.instructables.com
I made one but have yet to try it out. I gotta go buy some lighter fluid.
Hopefully it works and doesn't burn too much.
haha
I have a feeling that someone is gonna get REALLY hurt...
Playing with fire is only gonna get ya BURNED!
Turns out, they'll let any idiot with a wrench work on hydraulics.Originally Posted by gntlkilr
I guarantee that is a fake. You would still have the heat even if it is not actually using you as a fuel source.
Have you checked out the front page lately?

Hmmm.... I don't think it's fake. I still think caution should be used anyway.
if i can find some cotton i believe i still have a bottle of the same lighter fluid back from high school. though i will place it on the ground/paper and if that burns it will burn me all the same.

well surprise, surprise... it will burn you!
i made the ball (100% cotton pants + 100% cotton thread) mixed with some ronson fuel and a dash of holding for more than 5 seconds = burnt hands, fingers, house!
i never burnt myself but i had my finger about half a cm away from the bottom/side of the fire and it warmed up fast.

you can see black smoke from mine and not his, which makes sense since its doesn't get enough o2 for complete combustion. you can also see an interesting burn pattern on the paper. it makes me think the bottom would be fine but the fire on the sides being so close would still burn you. maybe with vasoline it might be fine.

Especially the part where he held it in the video, I knew that any fire did not work like that without burning.

You love my sig.
