Default Changing The Face Of My PC

ok... well i got really bored last night... so this is the product of boredom lol

^^ front panel already hacked up from when i first tried this mod.. ^^

    ^^ my rig without a face ^^

^^ the screen and the mainboard to it (from a mustek portable DVD player) ^^

    ^^ close up ^^

    ^^ rough idea ^^

^^ front panel i trimmed and drilled out for AV input (comp input is wired in behind) ^^

^^ the AV jacks i nicked out of a old voodoo break out cable ^^

^^ installed with hole cut out for AV switch (to change sources) ^^

^^ all in and mounted ^^

    ^^ all wired up ^^

^^ mounted into front panel ^^

^^ all mounted from behind ^^

    ^^ secondary monitor input ^^

    ^^ xbox input ^^

heh this is what ive been doing all night... was rather fun.. but now im shattered heh
and yes i know ive used far too much hot glue... i just couldnt find my electrical tape... but all connections are soldered properly..
i still have yet to paint the pieces yet... im gunna paint the ugly grey panel black... along with my fan controller... im also gunna fill in the floppy drive bay and paint it black and the big hack job will be covered with a piece of sheet metal salvaged from an old case... it will follow the contours that reach up into a U shape... it will also be painted black.. and heh if i can afford it i might get some carbon fiber sheets to make it look real flashy...
lemme know what ya'll think.. jus remember this is nowhere close to done yet

PS that lil frosted thing with the wires poking out off it is a tool i made to test the connections... like figuring out pinouts and such... it includes 2 AA batteries, an old variable resistor (cuz i couldnt find the proper resistance needed for the LED), wires (obviously) that i salvaged from a OLD PSU and 2 sewing pins soldered onto the wires as test probes... it has really been very useful for this project... simple as hell to make..

PSS and yes i know my desk is a mess....

    Looks great, very well implimented.

Only one suggestion, I would try painting the I/O panel for the secondary monitor red to match the rest of the case... just being white like that looks kind of out of place.

    UPDATE TIME!!! WOOOOT!!!
    lol here we go

^^ rebuilt the switch panel with 2 toggle switches for video input ^^

the black switch has been moved over to the left side for monitor power..
figured its a good thing to turn it off if im gaming and its gettin hot

^^ new jacks for the side... the ones on the front looked kinda crappy there ^^
(will only be using the ones on the front for quick usage the ones on the side i use for my xbox)

^^ painted black to look sorta uniform with the rest of my case ^^
(considering bondoing it smooth into the front of my case)

    give input please

PS ive also redone all the wiring and wrapped it with proper electrical tape
