Woe is me! Somebody shoot me now! I ought to find a cliff to walk off of! Our Feser One is trash! Talk about false advertising, with a UV puck DIRECTLY against the tube, it only gets a slight bluish tinge right where the puck hits it! How rediculous is that!? Feser One gets the official CK thumbs down.

Well, back to our work yesterday, Before we started leak testing, we wanted to get the SATA cables in, so we didn't have to fight our way through a jungle of filled tubes. As you can see, its a bit of a tight fit.

Once that was done, we checked out our radiator, in specific, the fans.FOr some silly reason, ThermalTake gave them each a seperate 3-pin plug... We decided to ditch that silly idea and make our own single molex connector for 'em.

I don't know if dad had thought that through, but from my point of view the 3 seperate fans ought to lower the ~5 volts to something a little closer to tolerable by the fans motors, I assume they were only on 3.3 for noise's sake... I hope so anyway! Of course, we didnt realize which pins did what until i stumbled over a few pages of tables in the PSU manual, so dad didn't really know that we'd changed the voltage. Oh well, they still ran fine when we tested them, so I'll assume their ok until further developments.

Next, we had to cut the crazy thing apart and move our temp probes to the right places.

Now we were ready to "get'r done!"

...and bleeds.... slap a band-aid on that Egor! As you can see, there was a small leak from one of the bolts in the gfx card cooler, and as you cant see, the bolt on the opposite side was leaking too... The top bolt had some sort of o-ring malfunction, the bottom, my dad never tightened. lol

Ayways, i'm gonna get to work before my dad has a heart attack, so CK out!

Hey guys, nice work again so far. Just a quick question what UV lights are you using? Are you just using the led strips on the top and bottom?

You may be disappointed with the coolant colour but you wont be disappointed with its performance. Feser One is the best coolant you can get.

May I say that the LED strips may have been a bad idea? I personally would have got CCFL neons. Yeah they come with switches and inverters but I believe that the UV light is much better than a LED strip.

We Tried both UV LEDs and 12" CCFLs the best we got was translucent, cloudy sky blue, certainly not the bright clear blue they show in their ads.

While I can't tell for sure about the light wave lengths they put out, the 24 UV LED strips are much brighter than 12" CCFLs. The LEDs also definetely cause the Ogre sleeving to florese (sp?) brightly.

We have 24 LED UV strips top and bottom, plus a 5 and a 7 UV LED bar on the center horizontal case support and a 7 LED UV puck aimed at the flow meter. The boy swears you can get a tan if you sit to close...

Nice.. Thanks - Ive been trying to work out which way to go with a new case, either the CCFL or LED. I like the idea of the LED's as they are not so obtrusive in the case. The little strips seem to "hide" better. Thanks again

Just to add to what dad said, when we ran our tests with the CCFLs that returned a cloudy purplish blue, we had the neon RIGHT NEXT to the tube! To the point of rediculousness. Feser has no excuse! lol. Oh well, hopefully it'll cool as well as you say, which makes it a little better.

If you don't like the colour you may as well just buy some new coolant. I will be using Alphacool Tec Protect UV Green coolant. It has no glycol in it so there is absolutely no chance of plastic deterioration. I would suggest a green coolant to go with your mod, possibly even a straight blue. Swiftech Hydrax is only $10AUD a bottle and all you do is mix it with 1 litre of distilled water, it is green though.

Are you guys going to stick it out with the thermaltake block or upgrade to somthing better?

Any block with a center inlet and some sort of pin matrix will whip the snot out of that 2lb TT block with its pathetic switch back channel. It'll still do an awsome job of cooling compared to air but there are much better blocks out there.

Yes, we know that the Thermaltake block rates miediocre at best for its overall cooling ability, but as you say it will stil be better than air cooling.
We plan to leave the Thermaltake in place until after we have the computer up, running and debugged. Then, who knows? Anything is possible!
