thanks for the compliment! you know...I was sort of thinking about giving them a light spattering of black paint...maybe use an old tooth brush to "flick" the paint on...that plus outlining the edges would match what I have planned for the plexi that will be going on the side...

in order to do that recess you could alwaysuse a pience of scrap wood, make a recess in that, then get a piece of wood the rite width, pefectly square, and then place the case side over the recessed piece of wood, place the batton over the recess and hammer the recess in.

That's a great idea...but wouldn't that make the side panel shorter? Or does aluminum "strech"? I'll have to get a piece of scrap and test that out. Great suggestion though...thanks bro!!!

ok, here's a little update for today... I decided last night that I wanted to cut something with my dremel....and a fancy new jigsaw I got my hands on.......so the top of the case became my victim. Here's the damage

TADA! Ok, seriously I am going to order my plexi today...I can't WAIT to move on with this!! Have a nice Saturday everyone!

I use the Dremel 400 XPR **MUUUUWWWWWHAHAHAWHAHAHAHAHA** (that's evil laughter)

It's nice, but I'm all about my new friend the DeWalt DW933...

You mean on the bottom outside edge? I need to rework where the B comes together in the middle...that doesn't look quite right either... Thanks for the input!

Ok, here's a little update for today...

I FINALLY ordered my plexi...should be in on Friday...schweet.

So I started prep for painting today...and that included sandblasting my case. Sandblasting. So if everything goes well tomorrow at lunch I should have the whole thing powdercoated. Here's a pic of the sandblasted goodness...

I also picked up a couple of goodies from Brantleys yesterday...

Then I got to use some machine called "Thor" to punch that square hole in the front panel for my USB...awesome. (And I couldn't resist a test mount of the switch)

So that's it for today...more updates to come tomorrow...paint, then (hopefully) a few side panel updates Fri. night.
