Just some other ideas/revamps I'll throw in here:

    • The main part of the case, side walls and front panel, will either be leather or made to look like leather and resemble a leatherbound tome.
    • I'm going to see what I can get carved/embossed/displayed on the leather as far as a fleur-de-lis and 'gold' details
    • I'll put it on curved Victorian pedastals similar to some steampunk mods.
    • I may cover the 'grass' area with a dark green fine felt.
    • I'm reconsidering the LED fan because as I said I don't want it to be a flashy case. If I do go with an LED fan I'll need to find some way to diffues the light.

I love the idea of using the paths as window cut outs, and I think you should take that patten to both sides of the case, and keep it as a tower. I'm not a big fan of the plants on the case, and think that a good green leather-look paint with some gold trim/accents would be very tasteful.

I also agree with the other classical French theme items, I'll see if I can dig up some nice pics for you.

Sorry, I was a bit misleading. The 'leather' part would be a red or brown around the sides and the bottom, which would go well with a gold trim too. The only green part would be the gardens part at the top. As far as the tower vs. desktop, I actually want it to resemble a garden at first glance rather than explaining the significance of the design on a tower. Plus, with her current desk set a desktop of this nature will look really good.
