    Question Airbrushing Aluminum Case

    Hello everyone.
I'm new here and to modding. I am going to be purchasing a Coolermaster Wavemaster soon and I would like to paint it a candy-apple red color.
I would like to do this via airbrushing. Where and which kits or hardware should I get to paint my case? Budget is under $300.

    Thanks a lot

I've got great news. You don't have to spend that much for a candy apple paint job.

The main paint jobs I do are with spray can paint. The airbrushing just gives you effects like flames or something else. If your just looking for an overall candy apple colored case, you don't need an airbrush.

Now here's the question. Do you want to eventually get into airbrushing? If so you could start building your setup now though.

I would recommend for what I think your thinking of doing is to go with "House Of Kolor" Spray paint. You can order it online or get it at Wal Mart nowadays. You can find it in the automotive section. You want to basically follow the following steps:
    • Sand w/ 900 grit
    • 2 coats of primer
    • sand w/ 900 grit
    • 1 or 2 coats of white base color
    • lightly sand with 1000 grit
    • 1 or 2 coats of Candy Red
    • then clearcoat , 4 coats
    • then sand with 1000,1500, then buff with 3M RubbingCompound

There you have it. A candy apple paint job for no more than about 50$
    • I would go ahead and use the same brand paint for each step
    • The reason I reccommend HOK is because they have Candy Colors
    • Candy's are the super deep color effect your looking for
    • The reason candy's look so good is because of the Candy and the color underneath it working together

    I hope this helps.
