Thats an awesome laptop. Im gonna try and get a Sager laptop. Configure it for gaming and computer graphics, it will be for school. mostly.
Last year I bought a Prostar laptop for about $2,300.
17" WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050) Glossy Wide Viewing Angle LCD Display
AMD Athlon™ 64 DTR 3200+ Processor with HyperTransport™ Technology 800/1600MHz FSB
512MB PC 400MHz DDR (2 DIMM)
60GB ATA 100/HDD 7200 RPM
8X24X10X24 DVD/CDRW Combo Drive
TV Tuner Card
They are cheaper now, more like $1,800.
I bought mine from xnbs.com, they're the cheapest I've found.
cool..... thanks for the posts......
MAC is out of the question...... just because they don't run games very well........ not of the genre I need to play like half life and others.
The thing I like about the laptop I posted was its spec. It's leading edge and with the graphic card it comes with, it really hits home on the quality aspect!
THanks!
This has recently caught my eye, looks great and the specs are pretty good.

In terms of durabililty, portablility, design, and integrated components, i'd have to say IBM hands down. Granted they aren't neceassarily designed as top o' line portable gaming/video machines, but power per pound they're one of the slimmest and best built laptops out there. I'd rank the mac titanium/ibooks close behind them.
I love the IBM's and the powerbooks but again, for what I need for gaming, they just don't cut the mustard!!!!!!
as for the 3400 thats shown above. Thats a really great machine and good for the price........ but I have heard the reliability of it is a little dodgy.....
computer gaming world reviewed three laptops based on the geforce go 6800. one from widow pc came out on top of the benches.
"The Sting." tested was a P4 3.6 EE, 2 gig ram for 2775usd

Alienware is expensive but I still prefer them. I am impressed with the Hypersonic's looks but it seems as expensive as Alienware.
You guys can't forget about warranty and service. I'd say Dell wins hands down for support, which to me is important for a mobile machine. I have a 600M and I have complete care. When my brother spilled Coke in the keyboard they overnighted me a replacement, no questions asked.
