    Default Quick Mic Mod

I play a few online games that have voice communication, to i grabbed am old mic out of storage and have been using it for about a year now

well, from being bumped and kicked off my desk many times, it is looking a little tired and i HATE the computer grey colour

    It really doesnt match

So, I was thinking about getting a new one, but then i said, NAY!

Ill just make i new stand and arm for it!

I searched around my house for somthing to make the stand out of and i found this.

it is the stand from some cheap watch i bought a couple years back, i think it will work perfect

So i removed the old stand and arm (or what was left) and i first covered tht wire in some random silvery rubber sleeving i found, and then in some tubing to stiffin it up i bit.

this is generally what its going to look like

i painted that actual mic cover black, and the grill\screen at the end silver (its really silver sharpie, but shhhh..)

now, this is where im stuck a bit, how should i mount the arm to the base?

heres a pic of the back of the stand

    any thoughts?

haha that looks dirty!!! (the 5th picture)

i would just drill a hole in the plastic in the middle. i would use a slightly smaller drill bit size that the plastic tube and jam it in

looks good though, alot better than that old one +rep.

maybe what you should do is use the extra wire from the mic to tie it to the stand. that way you can deal with less wires to have in the way and have the mic secures tight. maybe u cous make a notch so theres sort of a bridge in there, then tie it round that.
