    Default wooden motherboard tray

ok, woods really easy to work with. i need to make multiple motherboard trays, and i was thinking why not use some wood i have laying around?

for the standoff screws, since wood isnt conductive, can i just get some bolts and nuts and bolt it through the wood to the motherboard?

You could, but you need to be careful of pressure, the bottom of a board isn't flat, and it would be really easy to damage something by overtightening. A simple way to avoid that would be to put some kind of spacer around the screw between the board and the wood.

You can buy a length of nylon tubing at the hardware store for a few cents and use a razor blade to cut as many spacers as you need in whatever length you need them.

But you'd have to make sure you get them the right size. You could do that or nylon or rubber washers.

Most finish-grade plywood is very stable, with no need for "nasty chems".
