Default Introduction and my first Comp mod

Hello there, I have been looking over this site for a few weeks now and I must say the work here is amazing. I finally finished a few meager mods to my comp today and thought it would be a perfect time to register and make my first post.

Nothing fancy on this, just some paint, a Lexon window, Cable sleeves, Blue neon fan and some UV (not currently showing up too wel)

But its a site to share and this is my first attempt:

The original Compaq S6300NX was just plain Black an silver, I liked the black but decided to go with a copper color instead of the silver:

The smudges on the front are fingerprints (shoulda wiped it down first)

The wiring is still pretty messy, but the 600w upgrade power supply had way more cables than I will need on this comp and made it tough to neaten:

I also painted the external drive to match (since it sits on top of the comp)

The original keyboard and an old mouse I had also got a treatment:

And that was my first Case mod. Thanks for looking. Any comments, suggestions etc are always appreciated.

looks nice. You could put orange fan on the back instead of black one

no...an orange fan would stand out like a sore thumb.... very nice mod....seen some very nice copper colored mods,

as for if you wanted to do somethin with the fan....you can pull the blades out and hit them with some of the copper paint

and also your cables could use some cleaning up

    Thanks!

Not a bad idea about the copper blades on the fan, would blend nicely with the rest of the case. Yeah I agree the cable management is pretty bad. I Might try to run them behind the moboard tray next time i crack it open. Im planning on putting some kinda reflective surface (Mirror/Mirror tinted lexan) on the bottom to reflect the UV light upwards more, couldent find 100 mm UV tubes locally so I have two 300 mm's in the bottom of the case.

I happen to like the copper paint - nice job

An idea I had thought of for a future mod was using copper paint and let black overspray on to it, not completely covering it but kind of giving the antique look.

    Thanks,

Tried to get pics the UV lighting, but they just wont turn out right. Too dark without the flash, and with the flash the UV light is (of course) not visable at all. Will have to wait untill I can mirror the bottom or buy some smaller UV tubes to add higher in the case for decent results.

    Welcome to TBCS forums Shane,
I like your mod, it's a great first project. Simple, but the colors work very well with each other, even the blue fan I see poking through the front intake. If I were to recommend anything, it would be to follow up with your cables and further manage them with sleeves, ties, pipes, or any other means you can come up with to lessen their distraction from the rest of your work. Otherwise you did some good work!
