The Dark Portal

there must be some WoW fans that know the dark portal
i made the portal guard as my computer

HDD inside the guard with the PSU

Closed back

ON/OFF button inside the sword

mainboard is mounted ontop of 2 rails to let it slide out so the hardware can be mounted with ease
(on this picture it has an ati x1900 xtx but it died after the picture was taken ..RIP)

and the dvd player in front

ok well here it is

i made the base from wire

and added the head the same way

i made the base with newspaper and glue to make it tougher
and to shape the figure

i fitted some old gloves so i wont have to shape that myself
there is a frame inside the gloves that alows me to shape the hand

used a toy sword to get the right height for the final sword

i made the stand completely out of wood and fitted the dvd player

i made the sword out of wood and used newspaper and glue to shape it the right way

added some cloth with "paverpol" (explain that later)

the face gets his shape and i put a 60 mm fan inside to get the hot air out

for the rock effect i used light gray acryllic based paint
i used a dry brush and added just a little paint and brush tender over the parts you wanted to get the stone look

The inside (back) of the mod i fitted the PSU and my HDD's

The inside is hiden behind a backplate

The hardware is inside and can be closed
i fitted the mainboard tray and the base of the mod with 2 rails that allows the backplate to slide out to add the hardware

On the side there are 2 80 mm fans for air circulation ..1 to let the cool air in and 1 to let the hot air out

the sword is finished and the power button works

This is how it is now i added black mesh wire in front of the face so it has depth and the eyes fall back

and now for the cloth

i used PAVERPOL
it's used by sculpture artist to make sculptures
it gets really hard and can even be used to place outside

the basics are really simple
you take a piece of cloth (or other natural material) and apply the paverpol
shape the cloth the way you want it (the cloth is acting like sculpture clay now)
and let it dry for a day
after 7 days its rock solide and hard
i used stone colored paverpol but there are 18 different colors (maybe even more)
