Sorry about the slightly grainy pictures, I think my camera is getting too old for this stuff. (Cannon Powershot A80, non DLSR)
All images taken with it's whimpy macro mode. (Except for the tree/distance pictures)

I like taking photos of flowers instead of bugs/animals. They stay still longer and cooperate better.

All shot on a CannonPowershot A80. Higher resolution files are available.

Check out a program called 'Noise Ninja" to eliminate the graininess.

Thanks Ned. Sony Cybershot DSC-H7. I've been meaning to get out and take more nature/artsy type pictures with it. Been a lot of fun learning to use it.

The tree wasn't the same area actually. (My error. :s)
Was stored on the same folder in the camera.

Oh well. Also Sgt do you know if there's the same review for the Cannon Digital Rebel XTi? (Will look more at the site after I post this. :p)

Also any idea why they are so grainy? Is it a combination of old camera, bad Macro mode, blah lighting, and shakey hand?

Probably has something to do with the macro mode and lighting. I don't see much movement so I doubt it's a shakey hand. I know if I turn the ISO settings up on my camera, I start to get grainy pictures, so I rarely shoot above ISO 80 or 100. Where you're shotting isn't very bright, therefore the camera is bumping the ISO up to allow for more light. Doing so also increases the risk of grainy photos. Try using a tripod with no flash. Also, if your camera has a timer, use that when pressing the shutter. This will allow any tripos shake to work itself out before the shutter opens.

Not sure about a review for that Canon.. I just googled my camera and posted a link that I thought looked ok. I took some more moon pictures this weekend and also got the flower pictures uploaded that my wife took.

Also I'm either using Auto or 400, it keeps fliping back and forth. Also No flash. I hate flash. (Always judges wrong. )

Don't worry about the rep. See if you can manually set your ISO.. 400 is way too high. Even when I take night shots, I don't go above 100. I compensate with the exposure time. I can't stand using the flash myself either. Unfortunately, this one doesn't give me the option to use an add on flash or else I would have one. There are times when you do need it, but with most digital cams, the flash is way too close to the lens and that's what causes things to get washed out.

Also, tripods are cheap. I would recommend one if you ever decide on taking shots with a little longer exposure. Here's one almost exactly like mine (mine doesn't have a level) for $20.00
