It pisses me off only because I work my ass off and I make just enough to pay rent, car, insurance, ect.. I mean some weeks if I don't get enough hours its really hard to make it. I can't qualify for badger care, even though I have had problems with kidney stones..I'm not against this in any way, actually I am all for helping people. If you hate socialism or the idea of it then remember their are people that NEED it. I mean their are a lot of people that abuse the system but remember some of your friends/family may use them and keep it secret because they don't want you to think less of them.

i agree with you. i do believe and know there are people who really need some government help and honestly can't do anything about it. what pisses me off is the people that abuse the system that could be doing something to better themselves or at least be productive in society rather than leaches. i think there just needs to be better screening.

Everyone thinks they're owed a free living these days. When I blew out my knee in boot camp I stayed in MRP (Medical Rehab Platoon) for 2 months hoping to heal up and get back to training. I ended up being offered an ELS or PEB. ELS (Entry Level Separation) pretty much means... go home, heal and try again if you please. PEB is medical retirement. You receive military benefits and you're technically retired military with a medical discharge.

I respectfully denied the PEB. I was injured in training... I didn't earn the title to be a Marine nor did I fight for the country to earn monthly checks and benefits. My ELS was signed, I was transferred to RSP for 3 weeks and sent home. I'm not allowed to say I've had military training, I'm not allowed to put USMC on my applications, I don't get money, medical, military discounts or get special toys like automatic knives or any of that good fun stuff. Would it be cool? Hell ya it would... but did I earn it? No.

These people disgust me with their feelings of entitlement when they've never even tried. The sob stories are nothing more than excuses so they can maintain their lax lifestyle of ****ting out kids with multiple women while collecting checks for each of 'em, dealing drugs and likely other illegal activity. A very, very small percentage of the population deserves help... the other 95% of them are just proof our system is garbage, just like them.

i'm pleasantly surprised to see these opinions on here. being that the majority of our members seem to be younger and in college, i was expecting a much more idealistic and liberal mindset from the members here since it seems lately that colleges are indoctrinating their students more into the socialistic ideas.
