I bought my kit (complete with rivet gun and an assortment of rivets) from sears.

Unless you're riveting a ton, it's not necessary to have a rivet gun. A hand held rivet tool will do the job just as well.

That's what I suggest, but I use cheap tools for most small things. Unless you use it constantly or under severe duress, it will last long enough to get your money out of it.

If you want a name brand & warrantied hand riveting tool, arrow does a good job. I own an arrow hand riveter. It cost around 18 bucks.

WHAT! You mean I don't need a $300 pneumatic rivet gun? DAMN! Seriously though...the handheld tool works well huh? I guess I'll have to give it a try. Mucho gusto or something

I couldn't find my rivet gun last night. But i had some rivets. So i decided i was going to use one pair of pliers to hold it down and the other to pull the centerpole. . I used ever bit of my strenght to try and pull the ball on through there . . Turned beat red and about burst a blood vessel on my forehead. .
    I couldn't pull it off. .

Put you strength to the test see if you can rivet by hand.

    Lol. .Don't hurt yourself.

Can rivets be taken out? (im kinda a n00b)
I was wondering because i have always wondered what is inside kid's toys (the mcdonalds ones) but the things holding them together are rivets i think...
My method was always beat the sh** out of them with a hammer!lol
